You can also get a small 1/2 oz. bottle of tea tree oil, add a few drops to a sink full of water and clean your entire kitchen. Smells great and is anticeptic.

Hi,
I love being frugal and enjoy a very simple way of living. Always looking for a way to do everything cheaper to save money.

Tip: Before you throw away anything consider if you can give it away by posting it on Freecycle.org or sell it on ebay or craigslist. I have made good money while cleaning out my closets and clutter.

Ooh, Shabby Chic, good one! I did those recipes in a jar for my mom and sister last year -- minestrone soup and oatmeal cookies -- just layered the dry ingredients in mason jars, with a little pretty fabric tied over the lid with ribbon. Really inexpensive and they _really_ liked them.

Another tip: shop for the holidays now. If you shop ahead, you give yourself more time to find deals. Also do as much handmade as you can. My son makes gifts for all of his friends and family and it costs just a few dollars to do small notepads and crayon melts for popsicle stick and liquid glue building kits. Those came out to less than $.50 each gift. (We bought the glue for a few cents a bottle during the back to school sales.) Happy shopping!

My tip: Walk, ride a bike, use public transportation, carpool. Heck, sled down to the grocery store. (Also better for you!)

I LOVE saving money - so happy to have found this group! My tip: The majority of my family is vegetarian and that saves a lot of money. Meat is expensive.

I of the things that can save money is on shipping and choosing a way that takes a bit longer for packages instead of the more expensive overnight, 2 day, 3 day services. I have read that FedEx and UPS is experiencing a decline in those using the express modes of shipping. And of course now the US Post Office has the Priorty Mail, they have lots of boxes to choose from with one price for packages, no weight restricitions. Check these out.
